Like everything and everyone in life, this is a work in progress. Welcome to my newly-designed TES website. Over time, I will continue to build this out as a resource. I also plan to build out new resources elsewhere online, and will let you know when that happens. Wherever I might be able to help you is where I want to be. Of course the best way to help you is in person, or on the phone, or via Zoom, so please reach out to schedule a more meaningful interaction than this.
Of course, if we haven’t met or this is your first time on this site, I should simply say, “Welcome.” Welcome to my world, which is the world of people with an itch, an idea, some curiosity, and some motivation.
Those are the four qualities that all my clients have in common. Arguably, they are all needed. Without any one of them, my clients struggle to improve their situation.
An itch — the itch is something that stimulates us, agitates us, compels us. Sometimes it’s the thought that “there’s something else out there for me” or “maybe I could live my life and my career in a different way.” It’s something we wonder about, and think we need to address.
An idea — the idea may be something concrete, like a specific idea for a business, or it may be something conceptual. The concept may be something along the lines of “I have an idea that I could begin a business while staying in my current job” or as simple as “I have the idea I would benefit from thinking about options beyond my current situation.” An idea is something we can point to and refer back to.
Some curiosity — Curiosity leads to action, because without curiosity we are content to sit around and accept what comes to us. I don’t work with people who aren’t curious, in part because they aren’t open to coaching. What’s to talk about with them? Without curiosity we shut ourselves off.
Some motivation — Motivation, or drive, keeps us going beyond our initial thoughts. We all have that moment of inspiration that just…fades away. We weren’t motivated to carry it forward. Sometimes the best motivation is a negative, like a deteriorating job situation, and that’s okay so long as that negative motivation is channeled into something positive.
My clients come from everywhere, from all backgrounds and career perspectives. Some are white collar and some are blue collar. Some are closer to retirement than others. But none of those things matter if they come to discussion with an itch, an idea, some curiosity, and some motivation.
Give me a call and we will dive into yours.
